Get to Know Q! - Samantha Rae

This is the final week of “Get-To-Know-Q”! Join me as we welcome our last contestant, 28 year old Samantha Rae, to answer some fun questions.

Let us start with, what is your favorite song?

Sam: It’s tough; I like way too many genres. I will say, just about anything by Michael Jackson puts me in a good mood immediately.

Including Jackson 5?

Sam: Especially Jackson 5.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

Sam: I enjoy writing. I am actually in the process of trying to pitch a screenplay for a comedy series I wrote. I also love my two dogs and spend a ton of time with them. I have a black lab/pit named Jager and a corgi named Jack.

Someone must like whiskey.

How long have you been with this company?

Sam: I worked with Nate for a few years back when I was around 19 years old. Now I am back working for him and just started a couple months ago.

Well welcome back!

What is your job at Q?

Sam: Well, funny you ask. Way back when, I used to work as a dancer and also did photobooths and sometimes helped with set up and coordinating, but now, I do the writing for the blogs and such.

So you’re writing this right now?

Sam: Yep.

Do you feel like a psychopath writing out an interview as you’re talking to yourself?

Sam: Little bit.

Okay! Moving on.

Where did you work before?

Sam: I have had tons of jobs from restaurants, to working with athletes, and everything in between.

Sounds like your, well, our resume, is pretty stacked!

How did you become part of the Q family?

Sam: It’s actually kind of funny. Nate was my old neighbor growing up so I have known him since I was like 3-4 years old. Years later his family moved and I haven’t seen him in forever but he happened to recognize me one night I was out with friends and making a fool of myself on the dance floor. The next day he messaged me and offered me a job.

What is your favorite part about working here?

Sam: Basically the same as most people’s answers, the friendly environment, the fun, and the fact that everyone always acts like family. Nate did a killer job with this company and how he trains and treats the employees. Every time I was ever nervous about a gig he and whoever I was working alongside would put me at ease and help me.

Suck up. I mean, yes! I couldn’t agree more.

What is your favorite/funniest work story?

Sam: I have oh so many. Among my top favorites would be the time Nate and I dressed up as giant whoopee cushions, the first time we had to figure out a way to get the entire photobooth set up in my tiny hatchback car which led us to basically playing Tetris with the equipment for hours, and also my very first time as a dancer. I was incredibly nervous because I didn’t really have any training whatsoever as a dancer and Nate kept telling me not to worry about it. Then he put me alongside two professional dancers that made me look like even more of an amateur than I already was, and THEN the birthday boy had Miami Heat dancers come too. Talk about being nervous and insignificant.

Holy cow, lots of funny stuff there!
